Message from our Vicar, Rev. John T.S.
Dearly beloved Parish Family members -
Greetings to you one and all in the precious name of our
Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I consider the opportunities I
have had in my life to address the parishioners through the
newsletter, over the past three years to be the most blessed. This letter is seen
as the last message in the parish service.
Beloved ones - As we journey through the blessed months of March and
April, we enter a sacred and meaningful season in the life of the Church.
These months often lead us through the solemn reflection of Great Lent and
into the glorious celebration of Easter.
March invites us into a deeper time of prayer, repentance and renewal.
Like the call of God to Book of Joel "Return to me with all your heart", we
are reminded that this is a season to draw closer to the Lord. Let us examine
our hearts, strengthen our faith, and renew our commitment to Christ through
prayer, fasting and acts of love.
As we move into April, we joyfully proclaim the victory of the Risen Lord.
The resurrection of Jesus, assures us that hope triumphs over despair, light
over darkness and life over death. Easter is not only a day of celebration, but a
call to live as resurrection people- carrying hope, forgiveness and compassion
into our families and community. During these months , I encourage everyone
to participate faithfully in worship services and continue praying for one an-
other. May this scared season renew our Parish, spiritually and strengthen our
unity as one body in Christ. Wishing you all a blessed and grace filled March
and April.
Dear ones, We glorify God, praise Him, and offer our gratitude for the
opportunities, we have had as a family to work with you all in this Parish,
over the past three years. We remember with gratitude all the loving fellow-
ship we have received from each family in our Parish ministry, and pray that
God, the source of all goodness, will reward you all accordingly. Likewise, I
would like to express my love and happiness to the office bearers and com-
mittee members who have worked together in the last three years. A parish is
blessed when the people of the parish work together with the priest assigned
to it. I think this has been possible to some extent. All our Parish fellowship
and gatherings still need to be awakened and strengthened. Let us join our
hands and minds together in the coming days to achieve this. We pray and
wish that our parish will bear fruit and grow into the body of Christ in the
coming years and become blessed. We hope that, this will be reflected in the
ministry of Rev. Prijeesh P Mathew, the newly appointed vicar in our parish
and his family. It's with great joy that I welcome beloved Achen, Sophia
Kochamma, Danel Mathew Prijeesh and Dayal Mathew Prijeesh to the parish
ministry. I pray and wish that Achen’s ministry will be a blessing for the
parish.
Once again, I express our love and gratitude to everyone. Let us continue
our journey together in the love of Christ. We can continue to renew our love

Please remember us as a family in your prayers. Wishing you all an Easter
filled with a message of Hope, Salvation and Redemption. God's blessing

Dearly beloved in Christ,
Let us thank God that we are blessed to be part of
this Lenten journey. Each Sunday of Lent guides us to remember
the earthly ministry of Jesus Christ. The selfless love of Christ
in how He used His time to love us is a reminder that this Lenten
journey should be a sharpening experience that helps us under-
stand how we use our time and energy as we move forward. It is
a season for us to retrospect and introspect ourselves to see if our
commitment to God matches God’s commitment to us. We
know the answer that it does not. We need to recognize God
committing Himself totally to us through His birth, life, death,
burial, and resurrection. Therefore, the time God blesses us to
exist in this world should be dedicated to Him. Timothy Keller
once said, “If God is not at the center of your life, then
something else is”. Lent should be an opportunity for us to
recognize the things, positions, people, and the like that we put
on the throne of our life in which God should be seated. Lent
should not be just a 50-day commitment, but rather a call for us
to prepare for our lifetime. Together let us use this time to move
our selfish desires and put on to who God is to us. Is God our
primary focus or secondary?
It is with gratitude I acknowledge T.S. John Achen, Jinu
Kochamma, Abida, and Abiel. The last three years of their
service to the St. Peter’s Mar Thoma Church was a deep insight
on Achen and family’s love and dedication. The past year and a
half was precious for me to work along side with them and to
share our fellowship as family. Wishing Achen and family all
God’s blessings, grace and mercy on their new chapter on their
life as they return to India.
Wishing all a Happy and Blessed Lent and a Happy Resurrection
Day! Christ is Risen! Indeed He is Risen!

PARISH ORGANIZATIONAL ACTIVITIES
LUNCH AFTER HOLY COMMUNION SERVICE
We are planning to serve lunch after Holy Communion Service
once a month going forward. This is based on at least one mem-
ber being able to sponsor lunch on a monthly basis. Please let the
Secretary and Trustees know in advance so they can plan ahead.
We are looking for a sponsor for the months of March and April.

Mr. Johney Varghese (85), father of our member , Mr. Jiby Johney
(42 Forest Drive, Parsippany, NJ) passed away on Oct 29th, 2025 in
Kumbanad, Kerala,
Light to Life - The Diocese has a mission called Light to Life to
help children in India with their needs. It costs $240 to sponsor a
child a year. This can paid either monthly or annually. You may
sponsor as many children as you would like. If interested, please
contact Jerry Joseph or Dr. Mince John for more details.
Hope Mission - The Mar Thoma Church Diocese of North Ameri-
ca has a program called the HOPE Mission- it is designated for indi-
viduals of differently abled. (e.g., Handicap, Autism, etc.) If you are
a family or know someone in need of this support, please reach out
to our Vicar Rev. T.S. John or Jerry Joseph for more details.
The Messenger - The North American Mar Thoma Diocese pub-
lishes a book/magazine called “The Messenger” which shares expe-
riences from fellow Marthomites from the Diocese, letters from
Bishops, and Clergy, etc. Please reach out to Jeeba Thomas if you
would like to subscribe to this publication.

Mrs. Aleyamma Mathai (87) (5 Ingleside Ct., Old Tappan, NJ) moth-
er of our members Mr. John Mathai Jr. and Mr. Wilson Mathai,
passed away on Monday, Jan 19th, 2026, at 5:56 PM. She along
with her late husband John Mathai (passed away on Nov 3rd, 2019)
were founding members of the St. Peter's Mar Thoma Church, and
we are grateful for the church and community they created along
with the rest of the founding members.
Mrs. Gracy Varghese (76), youngest sister of the mother of our
member, Mrs. Elizabeth A. Thomas (222 West Main Street, Bergen-
eld, NJ 07621) passed away on Friday, Jan 23rd, 2026 in India.
Mrs. Thazhayil Annamma Yohannan (92), sister of our member, Mr.
Jacob P. Vaidyan (27 Bon Aire Circle, Apt 8302, Suern, NY 10901)
passed away on Tuesday, Jan 27th, 2026 at Bhilai, India.
